When you write in, it helps to include:
- Your device model (e.g. iPhone 15) and iOS version
- A short description of what you expected and what happened
- A screenshot, if relevant
**Please do not send routing numbers, account numbers, signatures, or photos of complete checks.** We never need them, and email is not a safe place for them.

## 🖨 Printing And Alignment
**Always print a test page on plain paper before using real check stock.** Hold it up to a blank check against a window — if the fields line up, you are ready.
**If the printed check is shifted or misaligned**
Go to **Settings > Checks > Calibration**. Nudge the layout up, down, left, or right until it matches your stock, and print another test page.
The most common cause is your printer scaling the page. In the iOS print dialog, make sure scaling is set to 100% — "Fit to Page," "Scale to Fit," or "Shrink oversized pages" will move every field.
**If the layout is wrong for your checks**
Go to **Settings > Checks > Print on** and choose the stock you actually have:
- **Pre-printed checks** — stock from your bank that already has your details and the MICR line
- **Blank check stock** — blank paper the App prints everything onto
Then check **Settings > Checks > Templates** for the layout matching where your check sits on the page.
**If nothing prints at all**
Confirm your printer is on the same Wi-Fi network and appears in another app's print dialog. If it does not, the issue is between iOS and the printer rather than the App — restarting the printer usually clears it.

## 💳 Subscriptions And Billing
**What is free**
Adding accounts, payees and templates, creating signatures, writing and previewing checks, keeping your register, and print calibration are all free and unlimited.
**What CheckWriter Pro adds**
Printing, exporting a check as a PDF, and sharing.
**I paid but Pro is not unlocked**
1. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account you purchased with.
2. Open **Settings > Pro > Restore Purchases** (also available on the subscription screen).
3. If it still does not unlock, force-close the App and reopen it — the App Store sometimes takes a moment to report the purchase.
**How do I cancel?**
Go to **iOS Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions**, select Check Writer, and tap Cancel. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for.
**Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.** You must cancel through your Apple Account.
**How do I get a refund?**
Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds go through Apple at **reportaproblem.apple.com**. We cannot issue refunds ourselves.

## 🔐 Your Data And Privacy
**Where is my data?**
On your device. Your checks, bank details, payees, signatures and register never leave your phone unless you print, export, or share them yourself. There is no account, no login, and no cloud copy.
**This means we cannot recover your data for you.** If you delete the App or erase your device without a backup, it is gone. Check your iCloud backup settings if you want a copy kept.
**How do I delete everything?**
**Settings > Data > Delete all data.** This clears every account, payee, check and signature from the device.
**How do I turn off analytics?**
**Settings > Privacy > Share app analytics.** Turning it off stops further analytics from your installation immediately, and nothing in the App stops working.
**How do I stop the reminders?**
**Settings > Privacy > Reminders**, or revoke notification permission in iOS Settings. There are only ever a handful of them, and they stop on their own.

## ✍️ Signatures
You can draw a signature with your finger or Apple Pencil, type one in a handwriting font, or upload a photo of a signature you wrote on paper.
**If an uploaded signature has a grey or boxy background**, use the sensitivity slider on the upload screen to lift the paper out and leave just the ink.
**If your signature prints too light**, try a darker ink option, or sign again with a slower, firmer stroke.
Signatures are stored on your device and are never uploaded to us.
