CheckWriter, available on the App Store as **Check Writer: Print Checkbook**, helps you create, preview, print, export, share, and maintain a register of checks.
The developer identified on the App Store product page is referred to as **“CheckWriter,” “we,” “us,” or “our.”**
This Privacy Policy explains what information CheckWriter handles, where it is stored, why it is used, and the choices available to you.

## Privacy At A Glance
- Your checks, bank details, payees, memos, and signatures are stored locally on your device.
- CheckWriter does not require an account or login.
- CheckWriter does not provide cloud synchronization for your check content.
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not display third-party advertisements.
- We do not use IDFA or track you across apps or websites for advertising.
- Limited pseudonymous analytics help us improve reliability and features. **You can switch these off in Settings > Privacy.**
- Apple and RevenueCat process purchases and subscriptions.
- Information leaves your device only for limited services or when you intentionally submit, print, export, or share it.

## 1. Information Stored On Your Device
CheckWriter may store the following information locally:
- Account nickname, payer name, and payer address
- Bank name, routing number, and account number
- Check size, template, and print calibration
- Payee names and optional notes
- Check amount, written amount, date, memo, and check number
- Check history and status
- Drawn, typed, or imported signatures
- App preferences and onboarding state
- Your reminder and analytics preferences
- Locally cached subscription status
This information is used to provide CheckWriter’s core functionality.
We do not intentionally upload your checks, routing numbers, account numbers, payees, memos, or signatures to our analytics, support, or subscription systems.
CheckWriter does not provide cloud synchronization for this content. However, your device operating system may include app data in an iCloud or device backup depending on your Apple and device settings.

## 2. Printing, Exporting, And Sharing
When you choose to print, export, or share a check, selected content may be processed by:
- A printer or printing service
- Apple’s print or share interface
- Files, Mail, Messages, or another selected application
- A recipient or third-party service selected by you
These transfers occur only when you initiate them.
The destination’s privacy practices apply after content is transferred. Carefully review the recipient and destination before sharing financial information.

## 3. Signatures, Camera, And Photos
You may draw or type a signature, capture one using the camera, or select an image from your photo library.
Camera and photo access are optional and requested only when you choose a feature requiring them. Signature images are processed and stored on your device and are not intentionally uploaded to us.
CheckWriter does not use signatures for facial recognition, identity verification, or biometric profiling.
You can manage camera and photo permissions through **iOS Settings > Privacy & Security**.

## 4. Analytics And Device Information
We use Mixpanel to understand whether CheckWriter works correctly and which features are useful.
**Your choice.** Analytics are enabled by default when the App starts. You can turn them off at any time under **Settings > Privacy > Share app analytics**, without losing access to any App functionality. Turning the setting off stops further analytics from this installation; it does not delete analytics already received.
Analytics may include:
- App launches and sessions
- Screens and features used
- Taps, navigation, and feature interactions
- Onboarding progress
- Counts, settings, booleans, and selected options
- Coarse amount ranges instead of exact check amounts
- App version and build number
- Device model and operating-system version
- Installation date and days since installation
- A stable app or device identifier
- Limited error and diagnostic information
The identifier is pseudonymous because it can identify an installation or device without directly containing your name.
Mixpanel may process an IP address for network delivery, security, and approximate country or region information. CheckWriter does not request GPS-level precise location.
Analytics events are designed to exclude:
- Routing and account numbers
- Payee or payer names
- Exact check amounts
- Check memos
- Signature images
- Complete checks or exported PDFs
Analytics are used for product improvement, reliability, security, and aggregate usage analysis. They are not used for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

## 5. Errors And Diagnostics
CheckWriter may process limited error and diagnostic information to identify crashes and technical problems.
Depending on your Apple privacy and diagnostics settings, Apple may provide crash and performance information to developers through App Store Connect or Xcode.
Diagnostic information may include:
- App version
- Operating-system version
- Device model
- Error type
- Limited technical context
We do not intentionally include checks, signatures, or financial details in diagnostic events.

## 6. Purchases And Subscriptions
Purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store. We do not receive or store your complete payment-card details.
We use RevenueCat to verify purchases, restore access, and manage subscription entitlements. RevenueCat may process:
- A RevenueCat-generated anonymous App User ID
- Product and subscription identifiers
- Purchase, renewal, expiration, and entitlement status
- App Store transaction or receipt information
- Purchase country or approximate country information
- Technical information required to validate purchases
RevenueCat does not receive your checks, routing numbers, account numbers, payees, memos, or signatures from CheckWriter.
You can manage subscriptions through **iOS Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions**.

## 7. Support Messages
CheckWriter provides an optional support form where you can submit a question, bug report, or feature request.
When you submit the form, we process:
- The message you enter
- The selected support category
- App version
- Device platform
- Submission date and support status
The form does not send a device identifier, and it is write-only: submitting a message creates a support record and does not give the App access to any other person’s messages.
Support messages are transmitted to our server and stored using Google Firebase Cloud Firestore.
Our hosting and network providers may process IP addresses and request metadata for delivery, security, rate limiting, and abuse prevention.
**Do not include routing numbers, account numbers, signatures, complete checks, or unnecessary financial information in support messages.**
If you contact us by email, your email provider and Google’s Gmail service may process your message.

## 8. Notifications
If you allow notifications, CheckWriter schedules a short, finite set of local reminders on your device — **three messages spread over roughly ten days, and then no more.** They cover writing and printing a check, and what a CheckWriter Pro subscription includes.
- Reminders are sent only to people without an active subscription. If you subscribe, any scheduled reminders are cancelled and none are scheduled again.
- Reminders are never scheduled overnight.
- You can turn reminders off at any time under **Settings > Privacy > Reminders**, and you can revoke the permission entirely in iOS Settings.
These are local notifications scheduled on your device. CheckWriter does not operate a remote push-notification server, and notification permission is entirely optional — the App is fully usable without it.

## 9. How We Use Information
We use information only as reasonably necessary to:
- Provide and maintain CheckWriter
- Create, preview, print, export, and share checks at your direction
- Maintain your local check register
- Verify purchases and provide paid features
- Respond to support requests
- Understand feature usage
- Diagnose crashes and technical problems
- Protect the app and support service from abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your information for third-party advertising, data-broker profiling, credit decisions, or cross-app behavioral tracking.

## 11. Data Retention
On-device information remains until you delete it through CheckWriter, remove the App, or erase the device. Copies may remain in device backups controlled through your Apple settings.
Support requests are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain support records, prevent abuse, and satisfy legal obligations.
Analytics and subscription information are retained according to our provider settings and applicable provider requirements.
Information may be retained longer when required by law, necessary to resolve a dispute, or needed to protect the service.

CheckWriter uses reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information processed, including:
- The iOS application sandbox and device security
- HTTPS/TLS for all off-device transmissions

Your bank details and signatures are held in the App’s private container on your device, protected by iOS Data Protection and device encryption, and are not transmitted to us.
No storage or transmission method is completely secure.
You are responsible for protecting access to your device and carefully selecting recipients of printed, exported, or shared financial documents.

## 13. Your Choices And Rights
You can:
- Turn analytics off under **Settings > Privacy > Share app analytics**
- Turn reminders off under **Settings > Privacy > Reminders**
- Delete locally stored information through CheckWriter’s Settings
- Remove the App to delete ordinary local application storage
- Manage device backups through Apple settings
- Control camera, photo, and notification permissions in iOS Settings
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account
- Choose whether to submit a support request
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of eligible off-device information
Because CheckWriter does not require an account, we may need information reasonably necessary to locate and verify a support, analytics, or subscription record. In some cases, we may be unable to connect pseudonymous information to a particular person.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information, or object to certain processing.
You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
